The Omnia makes for a slightly larger phone, but a small handy digital camera. Since it is always with you the thought “If I only had a camera” is now obsolete. I recently got an Omnia and I have found many to take a picture that I wouldn’t normally have the chance to.

On a Friday me and a friend went to our favorite bike park and I was able to bring my Omnia without feeling the encoumberance of a bulky camera. I just slipped it in my pocket, where I normally put my phone and we were off to explore the new trails that the swamp mountain bike club added to the park. We flew through the old trails to get to the new ones. Finally we were at the newest black diamond (hard) trail. About half way through the trail I realized that I hadn’t been taking any pictures, so as we approached one of the biggest hills in the park I decided to take a short video (shown below). The hill is called “The Plunge” and gives quite a rush to the rider. I record my friend and myself going down the hill. In the original video you can hear the tires accelerating at the bottom of the hill, not bad sound pickup for a camera phone.

As for uploading the videos/pictures on to the computer, it couldn’t be easier. It is similar to using a flash drive. Just plug the phone up with the cable that comes with the phone and follow the prompts.

Currently the mountain bike park’s biggest hill is closed for renovation, but when it opens up you can bet that I will have my Omnia handy to record the experience. To date I have only tried the hill once and I failed horribly only making it half way up the steep incline. When I have the chance to attempt it again I will make a “FAIL” video on youtube of my unsuccessful attempts. I think it would be quite entertaining. Without the Omnia’s versatility videos like this would be out of the question.
