Aliens, do they exist? What is the possibility that they exist? And if they thrive, have they visited us. These are some questions many people have asked themselves and may be searching for alternate opinions of. Well… this is what I think.

First, to answer the question “do they exist”? Of course they do! People from other countries encroach on our territory illegally every day, but if you are talking about aliens from outer space, the answer is not so obvious. To aid us in our quest for enlightenment we will refer to the Drake equation. This is a hypothetical equation that combines estimations about the universe and simple facts that involve possible duration of intelligent civilizations. To date the universe contains about 250 billion galaxies. There are about 100 billion stars in each galaxy, although some elliptical galaxies are thought to have over a trillion stars but that is a topic for another article. Out of the 100 billion about 20-50 percent have a planetary system, like our solar system. Of each planetary system about one or two are capable of sustaining life. The possibility of life forming on these planets is one hundred percent! The fact is life will evolve where it can live. Next we have to calculate what percentage of life that does evolve will become intelligent. Current estimations are about fifty percent and just like that you have a way to calculate the possibility of alien life. Of course these numbers are debatable and constantly change as we discover new stars and planetary systems.

 To answer the final impending question, have they visited us, I must first ask another a question. If they have been here, would we know it? Not unless they wanted us to. I think that if they are able to get here using technology that we can’t even fathom that they would be able to master the art of stealth. Besides, if they wanted to know about us they wouldn’t have to leave earths orbit. We put everything on the internet and we use satellites to transfer information from the internet, therefore the aliens could download anything they wanted to know about us from space. And what would they see if they did come here? A race of intelligent beings blowing themselves up. If we can’t coexist peacefully with each other we most likely wouldn’t be able to live peacefully with a race from another solar system.

 But the government is hiding alien space ships that have crash landed. I don’t buy it. If an alien was able to travel any number of light years to get here I don’t think that they would miscalculate landing. Any way, the possibility of other life being out there is plausible, but don’t count on a green guy knocking on your door and asking for a ride to area 51. Other life is out there but we just don’t have the ability to find it out of our solar system, yet.
